Fresh Advice: Feedback- Jack Canfield

Jack Canfield has some good advice in his book "The Success Principles: How to Get From Where You Are to Where You Want To Be."

Although, you probably would not have picked this up on your own be grateful that I took the time and energy to read this while pretending to do something meaningful.

Feedback comes in two forms: Positive and Negative

We all know how to react to POSITIVE feedback so I'm not going to waste your time telling you what he says, but the way we react to NEGATIVE FEEDBACK does differ and there actually is a way in which successful people tackle and use negative feedback to their advantage.

He starts off explaining feedback by setting you up with a valid scenario. The senario he uses is with a group of people he asks one of them to be a volunteer, he then closes his eyes and ask the volunteer to move around the room. Mr. Canfield now has to find this person (his goal). If he is walking in the right direction the goal will say "On Course" and if he isn't the goal will say "Off Course". Off Course is the negative feed back in this example, but if negative feedback isn't given how will Mr. Canfield no which direction to go in? You need Negative feedback to help you straighten up and bring you closer to your goals.

Lets say, that half way through the scenario Mr. Canfield broke down due to being annoyed? Will that bring him closer to his goal? NO, obviously.
Lets say he just called the goal/volunteer a bitch and yelled and her for the negative feedback...will that bring him closer? (NO, and this actually pshes the person and feedback away)

Lastly, what if he just ignored the feedback?

CALLED IT: NEXT GENERATION IPHONE WITH FRONT FACING CAMERA!

Watch a video of the NEW IPHONE INSTEAD OF READING ALL OF THE BELOW!

What's new
• Front-facing video chat camera
• Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS)
• Camera flash
• Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad)
• Improved display. It's unclear if it's the 960x640 display thrown around before—it certainly looks like it, with the "Connect to iTunes" screen displaying much higher resolution than on a 3GS.
• What looks to be a secondary mic for noise cancellation, at the top, next to the headphone jack
• Split buttons for volume
• Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic

What's changed
• The back is entirely flat, made of either glass (more likely) or ceramic or shiny plastic in order for the cell signal to poke through. Tapping on the back makes a more hollow and higher pitched sound compared to tapping on the glass on the front/screen, but that could just be the orientation of components inside making for a different sound
• An aluminum border going completely around the outside
• Slightly smaller screen than the 3GS (but seemingly higher resolution)
• Everything is more squared off
• 3 grams heavier
• 16% Larger battery
• Internals components are shrunken, miniaturized and reduced to make room for the larger battery

Real Story Behind Monster Beats by Dr. Dre Headphones

Even though it's somewhat large to carry around when going on trips, I wouldn't trade the headphones for anything else. In the video Monster CEO Noel Lee talks about how his company hooked up with world famous producer Dr. Dre.
